Virtual WI Meetings

Virtual WI Meetings

We want to say a HUGE thank you to all of the lovely ladies in our WI, who braved the Wild West (otherwise known as Zoom) to join us for our very first virtual WI meeting. The meeting was a terrific success and we look forward to holding many more online meetings this year.

Our first online WI meeting on the 21st July was great fun!

The speaker for our August meeting, on the 11th, will be a young man from the Kinamba Community Project (Fletcher). He will talk to us about his time at the school and what the Project means to him.

The speaker for our September meeting will be the academic Kate Lister, who is a lecturer in the School of Arts and Communication at Leeds Trinity University. Kate primarily researches the literary history of sex work. Kate won the Sexual Freedom Publicist of the Year Award in 2017. Her latest book, A Curious History of Sex, had a wonderful review published in The Guardian earlier this year and is currently on The New York Times bestseller list!

We have monthly meetings with interesting speakers; an active crafting group; and an active walking group. We love to go to the theatre together, host garden parties and try fun things together – like croquet and cartoon drawing. If you’d like to meet us, come along to one of our monthly meetings.
